COVID Test

who is eligible?

As of January 15, 2022, members covered by private health insurance or a group health plan can get at-home COVID-19 tests authorized by the U.S Food and Drug Administration (FDA) at no charge. State Medicaid and Children’s Health Insurance Program (CHIP) are currently required to cover at-home COVID-19 tests without cost-sharing. For those with Original Medicare or Medicare Advantage, free over-the-counter (OTC) tests will be available in early spring 2022. Test kits will be reimbursed up to $12 per test, with a quantity limit of eight tests per covered individual every 30 days, for kits obtained without a health care provider’s involvement or prescription.
